  • SPEC & GUIDES
  • Prysmian Draka Corrugated Steel Tape (CST) or Steel Tape Armoured (STA) Loose Tube gel Filled 250um fibre cable with a 900um protective clear tube and a steel tape within the outer sheath surrounding the e-glass/aramid yarn for applications requiring increased rodent protection and crush resistance over and above standard loose tube or tight buffered cable. CST is lighter and more flexible than steel wire armoured (SWA) cable allowing faster installation time. Typically used in external building to building applications with the water blocking gel making it ideal for ducting where water ingress may occur or for direct burial.

Available in multimode and singlemode versions. With a black internal/external Flame Retardant Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) outer jacket. The optical fibres are colour coded according to IEC 60304. The outer sheath is metre marked and has a ripcord for ease of use. Cut and supplied to your required length.

Available in CPR Euroclass Eca which is suitable for external applications. Cables meeting Cca or B2ca are also available on manufacturers delivery lead times. CPR (Constructors Product Regulation) has standardised cable classes (Euro Classes) across Europe and rates how quickly cable reacts to fire spread, heat release, smoke production, acid gas production and flaming droplets.
